Jennifer Nelson is the Americas Marketing Lead, Retail & Hospitality, for Zebra Technologies, formerly Motorola Solutions Enterprise Business. She is responsible for the marketing strategy that promotes Zebra's products, services and solutions to retailers and hospitality companies in North America and Latin America. In addition to having worked for a few consulting firms, Jennifer spent five years working for advertising agencies. Jennifer has worked for companies large and small, for-profit and non-profit, and has experience in both B2B and B2C marketing and advertising.
Jennifer and her little brother were introduced to theater by their grandparents with regular visits to Arena Stage in Washington, DC. In high school, she was officially trained to be a stage manager and she has a B.A. in Communications and Theater from Goucher College, in Baltimore. Originally from Maryland, Jennifer has been in Chicago since 2000. Soon after arriving, she worked with Erasing the Distance, a non-profit arts organization based in Chicago that uses the power of performance to disarm stigma, spark dialogue, educate, and promote healing surrounding issues of mental health. She is proud to have stage managed the reading that led to their founding as a theater company. As for Strawdog, after being invited to see Red Noses, Jennifer became a fan of the company, attended many more performances and was invited to join the Strawdog board in November 2010.
